Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using Kopykat ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Permitted use

Kopykat is designed for legitimate testing, training, and demonstration purposes only. You may use the Service to:

• Generate synthetic document data for software testing
• Create training materials for finance or document workflows
• Build demo environments for legitimate business purposes
• Prototype document templates for internal use

3. Prohibited use

You must not use Kopykat to:

• Create fraudulent, forged, or deceptive documents intended to mislead others
• Impersonate any person, institution, or government authority
• Commit financial fraud, identity theft, or any criminal offence
• Submit generated documents to banks, government agencies, or other parties as genuine
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

Violation of these terms will result in immediate account termination and may be reported to relevant authorities.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of any files you upload. By uploading, you grant us a limited licence to process them solely to provide the Service. You represent that you have the right to upload any files you submit, including permission from anyone whose personal information appears in them. Sample data generated by the Service is fictional; you are responsible for how you use it and for checking any output before relying on it.

5. Plans and billing

Free plans are subject to usage limits. Paid plans are billed monthly via Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the billing period. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact us within 7 days of a charge if you believe it was made in error.

6. Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service with reasonable notice.

7. Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, the Service is provided "as is", and to the maximum extent permitted by law we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service. Where our liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, it is limited to supplying the Service again or refunding the fees you paid in the previous 3 months.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and you agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
