1. Who we are

Kopykat ("we", "us", "our") operates the website and services at kopykat.online. We provide AI-powered PDF template generation for testing, training, and demonstration purposes. We are based in Victoria, Australia, and handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

2. What we collect

  • Account information: Your name, email address and profile picture when you sign in with Google.
  • Uploaded files: PDFs you upload, the text and layout we extract from them, and the templates and sample data you create. These are stored securely and used only to provide the service. If your documents contain other people's personal information, you must have their permission to upload it.
  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, upload counts, and timestamps — used to improve the product.
  • Payment information: Handled entirely by Stripe. We never store card details.

3. How we use your data

  • To provide and operate the Kopykat service
  • To process your uploaded PDFs using AI (Anthropic's Claude models), which reads the page to find fields and creates fictional sample data
  • To send service emails (e.g. sign-in codes and receipts)
  • To enforce our usage limits and prevent abuse

We do not sell your data to third parties.

4. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate Kopykat:

  • Clerk — authentication and user management
  • Vercel — hosting and file storage
  • Anthropic — AI analysis of uploaded documents (Claude)
  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Neon — database
  • Upstash — temporary caching and rate limiting
  • Google — sign-in

Each service has its own privacy policy. Your uploaded files are sent to Anthropic's API for processing under its commercial terms, which do not allow it to train its models on that content. These providers are mainly located in the United States, so your information may be stored and processed outside Australia. We only use providers that protect data to a standard comparable to the Australian Privacy Principles.

5. Data retention

Uploaded files and generated documents are retained while your account is active. You can delete documents at any time from your dashboard. To delete your account and all associated data, email us and we will do so within 30 days.

6. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by emailing us, and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au). If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you also have rights under the GDPR.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.
